PSNStores Weekly Roundup: August 26th – September 1st 2013

The second week of the PS Vita Summer Select came with the arrival of Spelunky for PS Vita and PS3,  and of course our resident King of Spelunk Eric had the joys of reviewing this cave searching adventure awarding it a 3.5/5.  I managed to spend a little time with the title and have been enjoying it with my experience pretty much summed up in this tweet from @derekalexander. We also had reviews for the newest in the XXX YYY series with Dynasty Warriors 8, the box opening AR game Open Me!, and the latest mini-to-Vita port Floating God Saves the Pilgrims in HD. The Pinball Arcade Tournament is continuing on its 6th week with what some pinball fans consider one of the best tables of all time, Medieval Madness. While the tournament is running down (only two weeks left after this one) it’s not too late to jump in and have some fun.

This weekend was the big PAX Prime conference in Seattle, and Chris and Eric attended taking in the show firsthand. You can hear all about what they saw and played in our PAX Prime podcasts (ep.1 & ep.2), which of course continue the tradition of hearing that all too familiar song in the opening. Sony continued to show their indie support at PAX announcing another range of titles that will be hitting PSN, including Road Not Taken, Cosmic Star Heroine, and Dustforce. We also got official confirmation that VVVVVV will be hitting the Vita and a new trailer for the much anticipated PS4 title Galak-Z. The announcements have just been flowing these last couple of weeks during Gamescom and PAX Prime. With TGS (Tokyo Game Show) later this month I am sure the indie love will continue.

What are you hoping Sony might announce next for PSN?
