Developer Hello Games has gained some pretty decent notoriety in the press after revealing No Man’s Sky at Spike’s VGX. It is a major detour from their popular whip, Joe Danger, which we gave 5/5 stars back in the summer of 2010. Four Door Lemon has partnered with Hello Games to bring Joe Danger to the Vita.

Four Door Lemon has plenty of experience with developing for PS3 and Vita. Their previous projects include the Sony published Vita AR game Table Mini Golf and Just Add Water’s PS3 remake of Munch’s Oddysee HD — which has yet to be released on Vita. Many revere the original Joe Danger as the better of the two in the series, but we’ll gladly take them both any day of the week.

Hello Games’ founder Sean Murray says,

Joe Danger is incredibly precious to us, and there are very few people we’d trust with our baby. Simon and his team at Four Door Lemon have a well proven track record, especially on the PlayStation platform. This is a great example of UK indie developers working together, helping each other to build something fantastic. It’s an ideal fit!

Joe Danger is expected to release on the PlayStation Store for Vita sometime during the second quarter of 2014. The latest press release says that the game will be the exact same as the PS3 version with the exception of “a few fresh surprises.” There are no details about when Joe Danger 2: The Movie might be released at this time.
