First Details: Tecmo Bowl Throwback
Leaked by the ESRB a few weeks ago, we now have details about Tecmo Bowl Throwback. The game is being developed by Southend Interactive, which oddly enough for a football game is based in Sweden. Before this they have worked on XIII and Loderunner (XBLA).
Well let’s get to the good stuff. Everyone’s favorite football classic will be able to be played online. So now you can challenge your friends from back in the day, even if they are across the coast. While the game will not have licensed NFL teams, you will be able to customize the team names and players. Which means that I will get to have Bo Jackson on my team!
If you don’t like the look of the 3D graphics, you will be able to change the game back into its old 2D form. Great for those who love nostalgia. You will have to choose the visual style before you play though, no switching mid-game. All the classic modes are back too, like Pro-Bowl, Preseason, and Season. And yes, there will be leaderboards, so you can show off how awesome you are.
The game is due to launch this spring and is rated E for Everyone.
