We loved the original PlayStation Mobile release of Atomicom’s Switch Galaxy and now the wait is almost finally over for the expanded version on PS4 and PS Vita. Running at 60fps on both platforms (and 1080p on PS4), Switch Galaxy Ultra will be available on Wednesday on the PlayStation Store in Europe. Those in North America can expect to get the futuristic racer next week. The game supports Cross-Buy in addition to Cross-Play and Cross-Save functionality.

So, those of you that have played the PlayStation Mobile release might be asking, what makes Switch Galaxy Ultra so Ultra? Well, a lot. As the addition of Cross-Play alluded to earlier, Ultra adds two online multiplayer modes for four users. You’ll also find 6 new ships to upgrade over the game’s 55 tracks, as well as a survival mode. If that’s not enough, Switch Galaxy Ultra also includes a 22-page comic drawn by WipEout series artist Darren Douglas. The comic unlocks while you play the game and tells the story of Vince Vance, one of the last remaining humans who is tasked with retrieving the valuable element tantalum.
