Spelunky Heading to the PS4 With Cross-buy Support

Spelunky (which was reviewed and enjoyed by Eric) will be heading to the PS4 sometime in the future. Not much was said about the game in the short post by Mossmouth’s Derek Yu, but we do know that the game will include additional social features including uploading replays to the leaderboards, new daily challenge features, and other things taking advantage of the PS4’s hardware.

The game is being made and produced by Blitworks, who also worked on the PS3 and Vita versions of Spelunky, and recently released Fez on PlayStation consoles. They are also adding a graphical update, which will bump the game to a 1080p resolution. The game will have cross-buy support (better known as #YOPO), but nothing is known currently about any of the other ‘cross’ features. Will you be checking out Spelunky when it makes the move to PS4?
