Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition surpasses 1.5 million downloads
Minecraft is a sales phenomenon. In a post on the PlayStation Blog detailing the game’s May 16th retail release, Minecraft developer Mohjang revealed that the game has been bought more than 1.5 million times on PS3 since the game’s mid-December launch. While it’s a far cry of the mobile version’s 21 million downloads, or even the 360’s 12 million, it’s an impressive stat given the PS3 version only launched in December. The physical release, and coming months should only see that number rise.
Mohjang, and 4J Studios (the company that does the console ports of the games) are planning on launching PS4, and Vita versions of Minecraft later this year.
