Sony Computer Entertainment and Mojang have announced a new download milestone for Minecraft in Japan. Across PS3, PS Vita and PS4 the sandbox creation hub has become the best selling PlayStation Store release in the market, with total sales surpassing 500,000 copies.

Sony is singling out the performance of the PS Vita version, which has sold more than 200,000 units alone since its launch in late October. To capitalize on the success of the game, Sony will publish a cartridge version on March 19th.
