Blue Isle Studios bringing Slender: The Arrival to PlayStation 3 with new content

PC gamers have been enjoying Slender: The Arrival by way of Steam since Halloween time in 2013. Blue Isle Studios has recently announced the game is coming to PlayStation 3, but it’s not alone. This console version will include new content that will be delivered to the PC version shortly after the console release. Does this make it a timed exclusive?

Probably not, but we’ll take what we can get when we get it. If you’re not all that familiar with Slender Man then join the party. According to Wikipedia, Slender Man (Slenderman) was created in 2009 by a Something Awful forums poster named Victor Surge. This would be the first I’d ever heard of an original character rising from some forums and  growing into something of a cult hit.

The ominous figure appears faceless when seen and supposedly abducts children. The game’s trailer depicts Slender Man as he is described by Blue Isle Studios, but also includes quite the smattering of paranormal attackers. It’s clear that if darkened scenes illuminated only by the fluorescent glow of a flashlight, surprise 180 degree turns, and jump scares are your thing then make some hard drive space available for Slender: The Arrival to… arrive on PS3 sometime in 2014.

The console version will come with exclusive new content that will extend the experience of the core game by letting players command “the lives of those Slender Man has touched.” In other words, play as Slender Man’s victims. Slender: The Arrival is going for a reasonable $9.99 for PC on Steam right now. In the press release sent by the game’s publisher Midnight City, there was no mention of a specific release date or price for the console version.
