Basement Crawl coming to PS4 shortly after launch

About a week after E3 earlier this year while compiling a list of announced PS4 games I came across a frightening image of a clown on a unicycle. At the time we knew very little about Basement Crawl other than that it was being developed by Blooper Team (Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder and A-Men). The mystery is over as we now have the first details for Basement Crawl.

Basement Crawl is a maze-based puzzle game featuring “creepy characters” (some of which you see below), gameplay elements inspired by Bomberman, and both local and online multiplayer. In the game you’ll play as one of four classes, each with unique bombs and power-ups, as you battle against up to four players locally or eight players online. The game’s presentation takes inspiration from grindhouse and horror films. (We should be seeing some footage of the game soon.) An Abandoned Circus, Restaurant Dungeon, and Slaughterhouse are a few of nine different arenas that will appear in the game.

Basement Crawl is coming to PS4 sometime during the 2013 launch window. The developers are planning to show off the game soon so hopefully we’ll have some more concrete information very soon.
