Gunslugs is being ported to Vita by Abstraction Games

Gunslugs is a 16-bit retro looking side-scrolling shooter coming from iOS and Android to Vita thanks to Abstraction Games. If they sound familiar, it’s because they are responsible for helping to port Knytt Underground and the recently released Hotline Miami to PS3 and Vita.

Shahid Kamal Ahmad, senior business development manager at SCEE, tweeted the news today. Abstraction Games will take the most recent version of Gunslugs from Orange Pixel and run it through their magic process that will pump out a perfect port onto Vita.

Gunslugs is a really fun game to play on OUYA with it’s physical controls. But Vita is the perfect home for the game with trophies, hopefully some leaderboards and co-op multiplayer. This could mean the start of a huge crop of Orange Pixel games coming to PlayStation hopefully.

We will try to find out if this means a multi-regional release and what kind of specs we could possibly expect for the game. Check back with us here on PSNStores for more about Orange Pixel games coming to PSN. For now, check out the mobile release trailer for a taste of what to expect.
