Rocking Pocket Games has let us know that Blue Skies, their helicopter twin stick shooter has been patched on PlayStation Mobile.

The patch fixes a few rendering issues that happen when the helicopter crashes, adds some speed optimizations, and was compiled with new SDK (ver. 1.11). They also dropped the price to $2.99. This is a drop from the original launch price of $6.99.

Do you plan to check the game out now that is priced cheaper?

Why you say game is now at a cheaper price, but don’t mention what the price is? I like SHMUPs so I am interested.

Oh wow, I dinna notice that you mentioned it. How silly of me. $2.99 is cheap, but I was saving my virtual monies for more TPA tables. Hmmmm.

  • Is it just me, or does the game control like poo? It’s like I can’t hold the Vita how I want. Even if I try to use the analog, it’s like it forces tilt controls in there as well.

Am I doing something wrong? Because I would like this game a lot more if I could shut off the tilt.

As of now, it’s hard just to stop moving the helicopter to bomb some tanks. Super tedious.

I tried looking in the options, but didn’t see a way to turn it off.

  • This game was designed for tilt controls. Button support was added to please Sony in case it is played on a device without an accelerometer, but it’s not the way it was meant to be played.

hii am glad i read this i am going to have to try to just get hold of the patch to see if it makes my game run better> if not i will just get the new version for 2.99 it is worth it i love the game. lee http://www.fireboyandwatergirl.co.uk

  • I submitted a new patch which adds an option to turn off the tilt controls and use buttons only. Wasn’t a big deal to add. It will probably be out in a couple weeks.
