FarSight Studios Launches Another Kickstarter for The Pinball Arcade

Yes, that’s right. Jay Olbernolte, president of FarSight Studios, is at it again with another Kickstarter for The Pinball Arcade aimed at raising more money for licensing fees. But this time around its for the Star Trek: The Next Generation table, which is currently rated as the #2 table according to The Internet Pinball Machine Database (ipdb.org).

The Pinball Arcade is highly regarded as not only a really fun and incredibly replayable retro pinball experience, but also the only way that this generation of children will ever play most of these tables. For the case of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the show originally aired in 1987 and ended in 1994. Its been released on VHS, DVD, HD DVD, Blu-ray and Netflix. Chances are kids these days don’t even know who Geordi La Forge is!

The licensed pinball table was designed by Steve Ritchie and manufactured by Williams in 1993. Though, you don’t need to hear me tell you the back story, because this is one of the many cool things that FarSight Studios includes with each of their digitally recreated pinball tables. Backing the Star Trek: The Next Generation Kickstarter project with a $10 pledge or more guarantees you a copy of the game on PS3, Vita, or several other platforms. Its also important to note that The Pinball Arcade and the table packs are Cross Buy enabled, buy once and play on PS3 and Vita.

If you’re on the fence about contributing to their Kickstarter effort to bring the Star Trek: The Next Generation pinball table to The Pinball Arcade, then do it for Jay Obernolte’s impressive widow’s peak and radio ready voice.
