Plants vs. Zombies will be up and ready on the PlayStation Store when you pick up your Vita in February. For a price of $14.99, the same price as the PS3 version, you will get some features unique to the Vita. Touch controls have been added, presumably for plant placement and menu navigation. Additionally use of the gyroscope has also been added when collecting sun and coins.

Other features include:

50 Adventure levels: Battle zombies in the day, night, fog, even on the rooftop
• Five Original Modes: Adventure, Puzzle, Mini-Games, Survival and Zen Garden
o 20 Mini-Games
o 18 Puzzle Games
o 10 Survival Games
• Zombatar – Make your own zombie!
• Zen Garden
• Achievements/Challenges – 30+ achievements/challenges
• Interactive Leaderboard
• Trophies – 9

So if you want PvZ on yet another platform, you have your wish. Anyone plan on picking this up at launch?

That’s got to be the most expensive downloadable version of Plants vs. Zombies in existence. If Sony wants to position the PS Vita as a viable alternative to iOS/Android for casual “quick fix” mobile games, then offering the same game as competing platforms for 5 times the price isn’t helping.

Who is responsible for deciding the price, SOE or PopCap/EA? (Not that it matters too much, as it’s a mistake either way.) If it’s SOE, then SCE (or Sony proper as the parent company) should really try to keep them on a shorter leash.

    • PS3 version is the same price. And yea it is SOE since they are publishing
