O-Games announced today that Superstars V8 Racing will release exclusively for the PSN this October. According to the press release, it’s “the most intense track-based racing game of the year.” (Gran Turismo 5 is releasing November 2nd, right?) The game was originally slated for a retail, disc-based release. Instead, it will be released solely on the digital market. It’s is based on the Italian Superstars Series, a touring car racing championship in which only V8 engined cars are eligible to compete.

The game supports online multiplayer for up to 8 players. There are dozens of official tracks and cars. In addition, the controls are said to be extremely customizable, catering to fans of everything from arcade to simulation driving games. Basically, by selling the title as a digital download and skipping manufacturing and packaging costs, O-Games can offer it for half price ($19.99).
Stay tuned for more information about this title in the near future.

This game is in such a rough place. Most people will probably wait a few weeks and get Turismo instead. Surprised they went exclusive.
Yeah. I think there’s a Nascar game coming out around then, too.
