Falcom PSP RPG Brandish: The Dark Revenant Launches Next Week In North America
Japanese RPG maker Falcom has been around for a while, they were founded in 1981. As such, there’s a lot more to them than Ys and The Legend of Heroes. Take Bradish for example, it was once a Falcom mainstay that went through four different games in the period between 1991 and 1996. In 2009, Falcom revived the franchise by remaking the first game for PSP. XSEED is finally bringing this entry to English audiences this year. North America will receive the game next Tuesday for $20. A European launch is planned, though details on when and how much haven’t been shared.
Brandish: The Dark Revenant is a third person real-time dungeon-crawling action RPG that pits you into forty floors of monsters, traps and puzzles in an attempt to escape a long-forgotten underground labyrinth. As swordsman Ares Toraernos, players attempt to both escape the dungeon and the sorceress Dela Delon, the arch-rival of Ares who is as interested in claiming the bounty on his head as she is in escaping the maze herself.
After completing the main story, players unlock the expert-level “Dela Mode,” where the challenge gets even greater in 10 additional levels played as the sorceress.
XSEED has been promised that the game will be compatible with PS Vita.
