Free-To-Play Fat Princess: Piece Of Cake Heading To Vita

Fat Princess originally launched on the PlayStation Network in 2009 for PS3 and quickly became a fan favourite. The charming take on a real time strategy game earned itself a PSP port the following year, and representation in both PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale as well as the Best of PlayStation Network retail compilation. It seems you’ll have ample opportunity to eat sweets on the go as earlier this week the Canadian iTunes store received a soft launch of Fat Princess: Piece of Cake. A post on NeoGAF by Sony Santa Monica’s Community Manager reveals that the puzzle spinoff is also set for release on Android and PS Vita later this year.

Developed by Uncharted: Fight for Fortune’s One Loop Games, Fat Princess: Piece of Cake takes the classic formula and moves it into a strategic turn-based match-3 game. The goal is to take down the blue army by chaining gem matches. You do this by using the four different character classes and upgrading them with special gems. The princess gets into the battle by unleashing a smash attack when fed with cake. Fat Princess: Piece of Cake features over 55 levels spread across 5 lands, with an additional 10 challenge levels. The game is free-to-play with in app purchases and an online leaderboard. Those that reach level 15 in the game are rewarded with a free copy of Fat Princess on PS3. This isn’t a limited time offer, but a major component of the game.
