UPDATE: Dead Nation Vita is coming out this week

A member of the Danish press took to NeoGAF to share information about the long awaited Vita port of Dead Nation. According to Hanmik, the game has already been sent to European press to review, and has an expected release date of April 16th in the region. Apparently there’s no embargo on the game. This information corroborates an earlier leak from the Italian PlayStation Store, which stated that the portable version would launch in April, and support Cross-Buy with Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition on PS4.

Dead Nation for Vita was announced back at E3 2013, and since went silent. When discussing Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition on PS4, Sony did confirm that the Vita port was still in development, and that information would be shared shortly. The lack of communication usually could be seen as a sign of a poor quality release, but Hanmik assures that the Vita version runs fine. Housemarque’s top-down zombie shooter originally launched on PS3 in 2010.

[UPDATE] A recent post on the PlayStation Blog confirms Dead Nation is coming to Vita on April 15th (tomorrow). It has been developed by Climax Studios who also handled the PS4 version. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like this will be the “Apocalypse Edition” the PS4 version got, as the PS blog post mentions the Road to Devastation DLC cost an additional $3.99 on top of the $7.99 price of the base game. Having said that, if you’ve bought the PS3 version of the game and the DLC, by way of Cross-Buy you now own it all on Vita!
