Ragnarok Odyssey Ace heads to Europe at the end of the month

A common trend amongst co-operative action games from Japan are expanded re-releases a year or so after the initial launch. While not a full sequel, these games often contain a myriad of improvements from network functionality, small gameplay changes, and visual enhancements. Of course, these expansions also come with a tonne of new content to play through. Game Arts and GungHo’s Ragnarok Odyssey series is no exception, with the game recently seeing an expanded release on PS3/Vita in Asia, and North America under the title of Ragnarok Odyssey Ace. This expanded version of the game will be available in Europe only through the PlayStation Store starting April 30th for €29.99.

Ragnarok Odyssey Ace has additional giants, Mercenary AI teammates, weapons, story elements, and new areas to explore. The team have also implemented a few gameplay balancing tweaks, as well as all of the downloadable content from the first Ragnarok Odyssey. Ace’s changes don’t stop there either, as the game has a new ACE Skill system, where new moves that can be equipped are job-specific and obtainable via enemy drops. There’s also the Tower of Yggdrasil; a randomly generated dungeon with 400 floors that will be different every time the player enters and will include post-launch updates for new content. There’s also an option to import your save data from the original game. Lastly, the game supports Cross-Play multiplayer on PS3, and Vita.
