MechRunner concept art shares glimpse of this upcoming PS4/Vita title

MechRunner is a mech combat game coming to PlayStation 4 and Spark Plug Games (previously worked on Robotech and various PSP games including Dead Head Fred) has unleashed some stellar concept art by Josh Nizzi. He is said to have been a contributing artist for some pretty big motion pictures. Ever hear of that movie by Michael “boom” Bay called Transformers, or perhaps Iron Man 3 and The Avengers? Well I still encourage you to take a look at this game.
The video embedded above runs through the concept artwork by Nizzi on its own without the need to click through a gallery. You can probably guess from the title and the video gallery that MechRunner is an action game featuring a transforming mech that turns from robot to tank. Other features include:
- Switch between Robot and Tank modes on-the-fly
- Slice & dice enemy units with your swords
- Rescue civilians for extra points and awards
- Access an extensive arsenal of weapons, customizations, and power-ups
- Unique environments that blend seamlessly together
- Numerous enemy types with different tactics
- Epic boss battles
- A dynamically shifting environment offers unexpected obstacles, cover and danger
- Unlockable skins, upgrades, and achievements
MechRunner is expected to arrive on PS4 and Vita sometime this Summer. There is definitely room for a game like this on both platforms, so be sure to check back with us for more information as it arrises. Until then, what are your feelings about MechRunner on PS4 and Vita? Leave us a comment down below…
KICKSTARTER WATCH: Spark Plug Games is crowd funding MechRunner. With 17 days left and less than $7k toward their $25k goal, things are looking dire. For only $10, you could donate and get a copy of the game on PC/Steam or PS4. Higher backer tiers are available. (MechRunner on Kickstarter)
