Axiom Verge coming to PS4 and Vita in 2015

Axiom Verge is a game that allows you to exploit glitches in ways you’ve never really been able to before. Whether that’s scrambling enemies, entering hidden areas, or corrupting environments you can exploit these ‘glitches’ in ways that you’re typically not supposed to.

Expansive Non-linear Exploration of 9 labyrinthine, interlocking areas.
Gobs of unique tools and abilities, loads of weapons, and tons of health/power/attribute upgrades.
Combat with dozens of unique creatures and bosses.
Glitches allowing you to break past the boundaries of normal gameplay.
Speedrun Mode – Play with a streamlined interface and additional features to facilitate speedrunning.

As described by the developer the aim of Axiom Verge is to give players a great game while also granting the ability to break past the world that was designed for you. Glitching out of the level and entering areas that ‘you shouldn’t be in’ is part of the game. A lot of classic games are name dropped in the announcement post but it’s nice to see something like this try and go beyond just being another indie game inspired by Metroid.

Axiom Verge will launch on PS4 and Vita early next year.
