Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, a revised version of the original PSP game that came out in 2010, is finally releasing in North America on February 11th, 2014 for the PlayStation Vita. In the game you’ll play as Makoto Naegi, an ordinary student, who is accepted to the very prestigious school Hope’s Peak Academy. This is a school that is only for the best and brightest students with no room for anyone that could be considered ordinary.

Aside from having to deal with the pressure of attending a school like Hope’s Peak Academy things take a turn for the weird when Makoto falls unconcious only to be woken up by an evil black and white robot bear named Monokuma. The bear announces that all of the students are locked in with only one way to escape. A student must kill another student without being caught. If you get away with murder you’re free to leave but if you’re caught you’ll be subjected to Monokuma’s deadly punishment. On top of that any student who manages to escape will be sentencing all of the others to death.

Naturally, once the student’s lives are put at risk, it doesn’t take long for the killing to begin and it’s up to you to investigate each murder, present your evidence in trial, and ultimately discover what Monokuma’s motive is. In “Daily Life” mode you’ll be able to converse with other students, build relationships, and discover what makes them tick. While in “Deadly Life” mode you’ll search for clues and gather evidence as to what happened for each crime. All of this leads into the class trial. Fellow classmates will fire false information at you that’ll need to shoot down with “truth bullets”.

Uncovering the truth behind each murder will of course only raise more questions that we’ll have to uncover when the game releases this February.
