T.A.C.S. Games development led by Thomas Hopper has not let up since his first game was released a short while after PSM launched. And now we have a trailer announcing his next game called King Bean. It’s a light hearted 2D side-scrolling puzzle game that deviates from the brown and grey color palette of Out Of Mind, Hopper’s most recent release, to a blue and green one.

Playing as King Bean, the object of the game is to collect all the beans in the level in as few moves as possible. The levels have an invisible grid and every time King Bean passes through a square, that counts as 1 move even when falling as seen in this trailer. Additionally, some beans will be trapped inside a mound of dirt or grass blocks. Choosing which to move and which to break (a la Minecraft or Terraria) will allow you to reach other beans strewn across the level.

Hopper tells us that the game has been submitted to Sony for approval and should be published to the PSM section of the PlayStation Store hopefully within the next two updates. With King Bean appealing to those puzzle lovers out there, Hopper is shaping a fairly diverse portfolio of PSM games.
