Reverb Publishing Event Wrap Up

Posted by on October 18th, 2012 | 2 Comments | Tags: , , ,

One week ago, I attended a press event with Reverb Publishing held in San Francisco. Alas, every demo kiosk was running PC games, but at least one was coming to PSN. After a brief hands-on with Orc Attack, I asked the guys at Reverb about the other titles they are preparing to release on PSN.

Reverb Publishing, also known as Reverb Communication, is planning on getting three titles onto PSN this year, and one sometime in 2013. The tough part about Indie games is getting them through the Sony certification process with flying colors, especially during the busiest time of the year when every other video game publisher is doing the same thing.

While I may have been unsuccessful at getting specific release dates, I did manage to make some new friends. Here’s a list of the games and their projected release windows:

  • Alien Spidy: has some 70 levels of progressively difficult puzzling gameplay. Reverb says it gets insanely difficult toward the middle end. I’m told the levels are short and sweet. Alien Spidy is seeking a fall 2012 release window.
  • Dollar Dash: I was told that the gameplay of Dollar Dash was heavily inspired by Bomberman. Dollar Dash will see some cash money from PSN sales sometime in fall of 2012.
  • Pid: I see a whimsical 2D platformer with gameplay elements borrowed from Portal, Reverb sees a beautiful stylistic platformer that should have been thought up a long time ago. While Pid gets an October 31 release on XBLA, the PSN version is slated for a November release. The game is done and just needs a clear PSN release.
  • Orc Attack: got some hands-on time with the four-player co-op heavy gameplay featuring all the farting and vomiting one can typically take in an hours time. The multiplayer hack n’slash gameplay of Orc Attack is shooting for a 2013 release.

We will be keeping in touch with the gents at Reverb Publishing to get more details on Pid, Alien Spidy, and Dollar Dash before they release this fall. What games from Reverb are you most looking forward to playing?
