Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD Coming To PS3 On “Last Week Of August Or Early September”

The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD Facebook page posted a quote from developer Robomodo about the PS3 release of the game.

“We intend to release the PS3 version the last week of August or early September. While the game does have a short period of exclusivity on Xbox 360 from being in Microsoft’s Summer of Arcade, that has nothing to do with the PS3 release date at this point.” They later went on to say that, “We want a bit more time to polish the game and want the PS3 version to be as sharp as possible.” So it seems that they are taking this exclusivity window as a chance to fix the game up before launch.

The game is currently sitting on a 67 with Metacritic where it has more mixed and negative reviews than positive. We will keep you posted if a more concrete release date is given.

  • I really wish they would have create-a-skater, but otherwise I’m having lots of fun! The first 2 Tony Hawk games were the best in the series history (in relation to their era) so playing them again with sharper graphics has been a nice trip down memory lane. I’m kind of a sucker for the orignal’s gameplay style, too.

I also like how they included some of the songs from the original version (like the essential Public Enemy jam “Bring the Noise” and “You” by Bad Religion), but also bolstered it with some new tracks, my favorite of which are “The Bomb” by Pigeon John, Flyentolgy by El-P and Trent Reznor, and “We the People” by Lateef the Truthspeaker. Overall a solid remake
