Assassin’s Creed III Liberation Brings the Fight For Freedom to Vita

Ubisoft has announced the Playstation Vita exclusive Assassin’s Creed III Liberation.  Set for release alongside Assassin’s Creed III proper on October 30, 2012, Liberation is being billed as the first full-length AC game on a portable device.  This will be the company’s sixth Assassin’s Creed side-project title on a non-console unit.

Liberation sets the player as Aveline, the first female assassin in 18th Century New Orleans.  Battle against the insurgent Spanish Empire in the same open-world, free-roaming experience you’ve come to expect from the main entries in the franchise.

Just as the release of Assassin’s Creed II on PS3 and Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines on PSP had cross-compatibility, so does Liberation and ACIII.  As mentioned during Sony’s E3 2012 conference, players picking up both titles will be able to unlock “an in-game version of Connor’s tomahawk, an exclusive character skin, a multiplayer character and a complete upgrade of all ammunition pouches”.
