Nested in a press release sent out today by Sony were the details about the PlayStation Vita’s battery life. It looks like if you love to play games with all the bells and whistling blaring you will only be getting a few hours out of the system before a recharge.

The official listing for the Vita is at 3-5 hours depending on what features are being used. The press release mentions that the screen brightness was at default, bluetooth was off, head phones were used, and the game was not being played over the network. You will be able to get about 5 hours off the battery when watching a video and up to 9 hours while listening to music.

Also listed was the charge time from a dead battery, which is approximately 2hr 40min. So how does this compare to what you expected?
