Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection coming late summer

With the recently released MK game fresh in people’s minds, WB games is wasting no time in reminding people what they enjoyed all those years ago. Alternatively, showing those youngsters what their elders had to deal with back in the day. If you were one of the people who purchased MK2 on PSN all that time ago, prepare to perhaps feel a little bit annoyed at the fact that you are inevitably going to re-buy a game you already own, through the same digital system you bought it from all that time ago.
If you don’t already own the PSN version of MK2, then you are totally in luck right about now, as the Arcade Kollection includes “Arcade Perfect” ports of MKs 1, 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, for the tidy price of £6.29, or $10 in your funny money. The only thing missing is Mortal Kombat Trilogy, which is something I can honestly live with.
Considering the fact that Capcom is still charging a ludicrous price for Marvel vs Capcom 2 on PSN, $10 seems like a pretty good deal indeed. The developer behind this port effort is Other Ocean Interactive, having previously brought UMK3 to the original DS, so there’s at least some experience with the franchise there to draw upon. More importantly, they are the developer behind the PUFFINS franchise, so there’s something to quietly chew over. MKAK will be out “late summer”, and I’m already dreading telling my spell checker that I know ‘Kombat’ is spelt wrong. Or should that be right?
