Back to the Future: The Game gets an ESRB rating

I’m slavering with anticipation at Telltale’s upcoming PSN release of the first episode of the Back to the Future adventure game, and having already finished the first episode on PC, I can’t say that that’s even halted my anticipation for the PSN version in the slightest. What can I say, I love playing games on a sofa. It is my pleasure to report that Back to the Future: The Game has been rated T by the ESRB. Well, episode 1 has at least. Though you can rest assured that future episodes in the series will likely take this rating too.

Here is the rating description in full. The game is expected to release within the next month on PSN, and this rating adds further fuel to that presumption of mine.

This is an adventure game based on the Back to the Future movie franchise. Players assume the role of Marty McFly, a teenager who must travel through time to rescue his friend. Some cutscenes depict mild acts of violence (e.g., a car getting shot at by realistic weapons, a character getting punched in the face). A handful of cutscenes contain references to alcohol (e.g., “Stay Sober Society,” “. . . drunken bums”). The words “sh*t,” “hell,” and “b*tch” can be heard in the dialogue.
