HandCircus announces “Okabu”

It would be entirely fair to say that HandCircus erupted onto the scene with the first Rolando, a charming platformer that went a long way towards proving to me that the iPhone could provide a quality gaming experience on par with most systems, even without buttons. Now, however, the studio is turning it’s attention towards PSN, having just announced Okabu as a PSN exclusive, due out sometime next year.

HandCircus describes Okabu as “a hyper-tactile toy box world filled with a huge number of puzzles, playthings, adorable creatures and devious machines”, and having watched the debut trailer, I can certainly agree with that statement. The game looks charmingly brilliant, with what seems to be HandCircus’ signature style once again out in full force. The game’s entire campaign is playable in co-op, with players having to work together in a variety of challenges. In case you can’t tell how weird and wonderful the game is from my description alone, the debut trailer is enclosed below. If it doesn’t bring a smile to your face, then I’m afraid I can’t help you. Look for more coverage on Okabu soon.
