Ubisoft had an event last night, and the publisher has seemingly wasted no time in announcing that Beyond Good & Evil, one of my favorite games of the last generation, would be coming to PSN next year, with a whole host of added bells and whistles, such as 1080p graphics, made over character models, and a re-mastered soundtrack, along with everything you’ve come to expect this generation, such as trophies and online leaderboards.
Beyond Good & Evil tells the story of Jade, a 20 year old photographer, who’s home comes under attack by an evil force known as the Domz. However, all is not what it seems, and Jade is tasked with unmasking a conspiracy that could bring down an entire government.
Ubisoft hasn’t announced a price or release date (other than your standard release window of “2011″) for Beyond Good & Evil HD. Ubisoft, just promise me that you’ll include a new trailer for Beyond Good & Evil 2 in the package? I don’t think I can take much more waiting.

I’ve been playing the original for a while now, but I just haven’t been able to finish it. Maybe I’ll just wait for this version instead (because it’ll probably be out before I ever finish my PS2 copy).
Add this to the list of “missed it first time around, can’t wait to play it now” games. Sly Cooper collection, too. Maybe I’ll even beat GoW2 someday.
ICO and SotC is on that list, too. Gonna be a sweet year of remakes.
